The Consortium sees this initiative as a strengthening of the international cooperation that aims on harmonisation of a common hardware platform for C-ITS – not only for the initial deployment, but also in the long term. This platform for C-ITS ad-hoc communication is based on IEEE 802.11p, in Europe known as ETSI-ITS-G5 and in the US as DSRC.
